Is the Access Plan an ACA Plan?
No. The Access Plan is an excepted benefit fixed indemnity product that provides members with affordable, highly customizable coverage, but our Access Plans do not qualify as an Affordable Care Act (ACA/Obamacare) plans. This means that the Access Plan does not provide ACA-qualified essential health benefits or minimum essential coverage. You cannot receive a subsidy (premium tax credit and/or cost sharing reduction) under the ACA in connection with your purchase of the Access Plan. Termination or loss of the Access Plan policy does not entitle you to a Special Enrollment Period to purchase a health benefit plan that qualifies as minimum essential coverage outside of an open enrollment period.
Sidecar Health ACA plans are available in all counties in Ohio for 2022. You can learn more about our ACA plans here.
